I reformatted win98 several weeks ago. However, I think I wiped the drivers for the visual side of thing as I only have 16 color and some programs will not run without 256 color. What do I need to download and install and where do I find it? I have an upgraded pentium 11 mainboard bx pro 100mhz. It had perfect graphics before I reformatted so I know that it has the capabilities to get 256 colours, but obviously need to install or upgrade something. Can anyone advise? Thanks

What does it say in Device Manager for Display Adaptor ? Did you try going into Control Panel / Display / Settings and changing the Colors and Screen Resolution to 256 colors and 800 x 600 screen size. If you have drivers installed, the settings should change and stick. If the settings cannot be changed, then you will need to install video card drivers. Do you know the make and model of your video card ?

When you formatted you removed the drivers for the video card, or on board video. You must reinstall the drivers for your video card then you will be OK.
