256 color configuration

My computer cannot go to 256 bit color since the harddisk was reformatted. Is there anyway I can configure from 16 to 256?

When you install Win95 it only gives you 2 options [maybe 3 on some VGA cards], monochrome and 16 colour. You have to install your VGA drivers in 'My Computer>Device Manager>Display' to get the other settings for your card.

I'm having the same problems since getting a new harddrive. My desktop themes will not allow me to change to 256 colors. Could someone get me a driver for 256 colors? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

i'm having the same problem with my windows 98. After i reinstalled in, i only had 16 in color. if someone can please help me, i would really appreiciate it.

Please help me. I cannot get 256 colors after reformatting the harddrive. I have taken many peoples advice trying to get this back to normal,but i havent gotten it yet. I need 256 colors to play video games and i am really really bored. PLEASE HELP!!! E-mail me with the answer at pingod@hotmail.com

I'm having the same problem I can't change my colors from 16 to 256 after re-formatting my hard drive and my driver that came with my computer I don't have anymore please help
