if yes, then what are the possibilities of a 2nd processor on my 810D m/b? i have a 550Mhz. processor now.
by adding another 550Mhz processor along with adequate cooling fans, will i get the same performance as that of a single 1.1Ghz CPU?
(550+550 Mhz = 1100 Mhz == 1.1Ghz)

curious and hopeful for my comp.

Kailas

It is possible if the motherboard is capable of supporting a second processor. You would have to run an operating system that is capable of taking advantage of the second processor suck as NT, 2000, or 2K.

Yes it is possible to have 2 processors on a motherboard, but why would you want to? Most programs do not take advantage of this, so any increase in speed will be fairly unnoticable. Opt for a high-end single processor, and watch the benchmark tests rise.

Mobo AND processors must be designed for multiple processor operation.
No ,, they don't double up the speed in series

In addition to the MoBo and CPU's having to be designed to be used in Multiple Processor units, the Software also has to be designed to be used with Multiple Processors.

I think ADOBE PhotoShop is MP capable and is the only program that I know of that maybe. (what I know about Adobe Photoshop would fit on a postage stamp in 24 point type)
