Hello everyone,
I very rarely have the sound on, but at times, I will listen to a song on the computer. I don't get these all the time, but they will pop up on the machine. It sounds like a fog horn with 2 beeps every 5 seconds.
I e-mailed the mobo maker, tech support sent me 2 form letters describing the function of the bios and how to set it up. What is interesting, they also printed out my letter, and no where do I ask them for help adjusting the bios. I get more correct information and technical help from comp.net, than I do from my isp and this mobo maker.I would appreciate any suggestions and possible cures to correct this sound problem,
as alway I appreciate and thank you for your help,
have a happy new year,
charlie

This a REAL long shot, so bear with me.
A long time ago (about 2 yrs. or so) there was a virus that would do this. That's all it did, played these sounds.
But for the life of me I can't remember what it was called.
I know this isn't any real help, but maybe it will trigger a memory from someone else who does remember what did this.
Larry

Just thinking aloud I'm afraid.
Does this happen when playing pre-recorded CD's too? Just wondered if it was downloaded stuff and they put the beeps in just to annoy you into buying it.
Perhaps your mobo maker thought it was a BIOS problem (pity they didn't say so if this is the case). Well, anything is possible I suppose, but the only BIOS beeps I've run into are "during boot-up" when something is wrong (usually hardware).
