Comment:

I had to format my c drive, and after reinstalling win98se, the graphics are not what they were!. I've got large icons, and all pages are too large. I remember having an "ATI" symbol in the bottom right corner, which is no longer there, is this my problem? if so, How do I rectify it??. Also i'm unable to change any attributes regarding pixels & colors via display in control panel.
Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks

Darren

You need to install the correct driver for your video card. We know it's an ATI, that's a start. Unless you have it documented somewhere what model it is, you're probably going to have to open up your case, take it out, and read (and write down) all of the info that's printed on the card. If you do that and post that info here, someone will be able to figure out what model it is, then you'll have to download it from www.driverguide.com.
You don't happen to have a restore cd for that PC do you, cuz the driver would be on there. Otherwise you'll have to do what I said above. Post back with the info off of the card.

Download and install AIDA 32 Personal System Information and you will get details on your video card name and model. From a drivers download site like Driverguide you download the driver program.Install and reboot the computer.Make final settings to your video resolution. If you download from an alternate computer, zip the files with Winzip and unzip on your computer with the same Winzip program that you have installed on both computers. You will need a box of diskettes(Program size in Mo ÷ 1.44 Mo = # of diskettes). When you create a diskette set with Winzip, click new, insert a diskette in the A drive and on this first screen you give a name to the set like a:\driver.On the next screen you browse the folders to find your driver file ,highlight it and it should appear in the name file entry where you had a blue *.*(this works well for one file programs) ; click add to start the save on your diskettes. When you go to the second computer, insert the last diskette and click on the file(the program stores save info on the last disktette) .You will be asked to insert diskette one.You can start the process right away(setup will go ahead from a temporary copy of the program) or click Extract to to save a copy on your hard drive in a folder of your choice like C:\drivers.
