1394 not recognized in Device Manager

Help Anyone! - I am installing a firewire card to my computer so I can hook up my dig camcorder. After I put the card in windows does not recognize it... furthermore if I manually add the 1394 driver it does not show up in my device manager window. (The whole 1394 category that is) Any ideas???
WIN 98 SE

after some searching i found nothing that you describe.

Only thing i can suggest is to see what IRQ the controller is using. Might be that it has only 1 IRQ it can use and that one is already resourced out.

Other thing, you have a bad card. Only way to test this is the have another computer to plug it in.
