Hello all!..

Ive had the Fatal error oe at 0167:BFF8AB97 problem for a little while and have done a fair amount of testing etc.
There seems to be some common parts for this error based on other forums.
AMD CPU's
ASUS mobos
Win98SE

the error can be limited by slowing the memory clock speed (using jumpers/ in the BIOS), tho this shouldnt have to be the case.
In my situation I have found that changing memory, CPU, mobo, or drivers have no effect.
That leaves Win98SE, in my case the mobo (ASUS A7N266VM) tho specked for 98SE seems unstable on this OS.
Full tests with 2000 / XP show no problems

Give me a shout if you find the same, or need any other help!

Carl

It seems Pentium 4 Celeron with Win XP supports all the drivers, recent game programs(games without Open GL:this one you need to buy from Scitech software), Direct-X 9 etc. This would leave you wondering...If you read between the lines you see Microsoft and Intel. What are you supposed to do if you just bought your AMD based machine?Other people have the same questions as you do in the same Win 9X forum.Good luck.

An interesting thought.....although I feel its more down to the Mobo manufacturer not realy bothering too much with Win98se drivers as its now an older OS....otherwise its a good Mobo...and in general a very good manufacturer.
