DELTA2.bat Now Ready!
The sole purpose of Delta2 is to delete Index.dat files for reasons of space, privacy, and performance. These files are never resized and only get bigger. They contain all your web surfing history since they were (re)created, and large index.dat files can cause performance issues with browsing. Index.dat files cannot be deleted if Explorer is running.
Delta2 deletes the folders the index.dat files are in and restores any saved cookies each time you start or reboot your computer. Deleting the folders ensures that the index.dat files will be rebuilt at minimal size (they won’t be if there are other files in the folder). Otherwise, why bother?
NOTE: The original Delta.bat deleted only index.dat files. That’s an important distinction if you don’t want the files in the Cookies, History, and TIF folders deleted; hence the name change from Delta to Delta2. (5,850 bytes; size on disk is 16KB)
Delta2 is available for those who, for whatever reason, do not want the other features of Delindex. If you have the new (6/21/02) version of Delindex, you do not need Delta2 because the Delta2 routine is incorporated in within Delindex.

Computing.net is where each of us helps all of us to move the goal posts.

Ok, you have me interested now.
1. If I delete a cookie from TIF it will automatically remove it from the Cookies folder.
If I remove a cookie from the Cookies folder it does not remove it from the TIF folder.
So, If I copy the GDCookies to the Cookies folder will they automatically be found in TIF too or is it neccessary for them to be found in TIF at all?
" Set up DELTA2 which copies the saved cookies to the Cookie folder. FYI,
cookies CANNOT copied correctly in DOS because of long filenames."2. Is the above stating that the .bat will or will not copy the cookies correctly?
Thanks,
Bryan
