Microsoft Windows Sound Recorder

My sound recorder will not tape my voice now and I can not figure out why. I can play sounds on it and it works for wav files and such but yet when i want to tape a wav file of my voice etc nothing??? I am able to hear sounds on computer and voice chat and such but the recorder is not able to tape..HELP!!!

go to control panel/ multimedia make sure nothing is muted! click on the MIC ICON!

Thanks for the above tip! I had same problem with much agony until I found this site. I did note that once I set the mike volume that I had to "exit", not "close", that panel for the change to be effective. Hope it stays fixed.

on my sound recorder i press record and it says "your audio hardware cannot record into files like this one, to create an audio file open a new document" it just started doing this one day after i had been recording stuff a lot. WHAT DO I DO????
