Hi!

Something is eating up all resources in my PC directly after start up. Even closing most of the running applications the resources meter indicates less and less resources, and in a matter of 1 to 2 minutes nothing is left, being impossible even to log out or re-start.
I scanned it using Norton Anti Virus directly from the installation CD and no virus was found.

Any suggestions?

It soulds like you have a program running in the background that has a memory leak.
Go to http://www.anti-trojan.org and download winpatrol from the freeware downloads page. With winpatrol you will be able to see all the programs running in the background, and will be able to stop the offending program then remove it from starting

Your "memory leak" is most likely Spyware.

Well, WinPatrol on it's own didn't do the trick.

What did you find when you ran it?

Hi!

Here is what was done with WinPatrol (sorry for the formatting). But I could not get rid of Norton's Nprotect.exe reinstalling it, even after I uninstalled Norton - it keeps comming all the time. Any hint on how to get rid of it?
