Shdocvw.dll can be extracted from the Windows 98 cab file Win98_38.cab

If you have Internet Explorer 5 then you can extract Ie_1.cab from Ie_s1.cab
Then from Ie_1.cab you can extract shdocvw.dll

Hi,

I tried to ugrade to Win98 from Win 95 and I got an error "Error occurred calling "DLLLNSTALL." in C:\Windows\System\shdocvw.dll (HRESULT = 80004005)

My question is could this erro cause my DVD/CD ROm not to be detected by Win98 and not work bacause it is not recognized by Win98.

If i uninstall 98 and go back to 95, the drive is fine. Same goes for my Iomega zip
drive. Any help with this would be appreciated .......

i download it for running a program..when i finished my doenload ...i open that program that need this file...it shows..."component 'shdocvw.dll' not correctly registered: file is missing or invalid"

I have downloaded one software. After installing there is an error comming
"Component 'SHDOCVW.DLL" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered : a file is missing in in invalid.

So, kindly send or advice, we are using older versions of Explorer / Nescape Navigator.

I have been reinstalling windows95. I got an error message that says"
ERROR in c:\windows\system\shdocvw.dll
missing entry:install reg_rundll
Also another message:
cannot find %40005%\regexp.exe (or one of its components) Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all libraries are available
Can anybody help me? Please????

If you have Windows Second Edition, the shdocvw.dll can be located in the win98_41 cab file.

Click on start
In the Open box, type the following line:
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:
DllRegisterServer in shdocvw.dll succeeded
Shut down and restart your computer.

I am trying to connect to "dotnow.com"

This is what appears on my screen

Initialization error: Component'SHDOCVW.DLL'
or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

Can you PLEASE tell me how to deal with this problem.

Part of IE 4.0. You can install IE 4.0, then uninstall it.

Or, another possible fix I found on another site, go to start/run and type:

regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

then:

regsvr32 shdocvw.dll

then restart

I get this error & my windows keep closing. I have the 2nd edition Windows 98 & I installed & tried uninstalling the new Norton Antivirus scan 2000, but am clueless. HELP! (error below)

It's in C:\Windows\System on Win98 systems. To extract it from the Win98 CD, go to START/PROGRAMS/SYSTEM TOOLS/SYSTEM INFORMATION/TOOLS/SYSTEM FILE CHECKER/ and extract from [CD-ROM]:\Win98\ to C:\Windows\System\

It's a component that comes with Microsoft Internet Explorer and it's not distributable. You need to have your users download the latest version of Internet Explorer, unfortunately.
