I have your weecam digital camera but I am unable to install it. I have operating in windows 95 with a USB port. In the last week I have left 4 messages with your technical support and have not received a call back as of yet. I am leaving for 2 weeks vacation today so I won't be here if support calls back. You don't seem to have the software drivers for windows 95 at your internet site. Please send me the drivers for windows 95 using a USB port. Thank You.

sincerely,

I have written to Augie in the past about my weecam. You were going to send me a new CD rom to install this with, I never received it. I now have it installed with windows 98 however, it only works some of the time. When its not working I get a screen saying no capture device is available. Why does it work only sometimes? Also, can this weecam be used with other programs besides net meeting?

I am using windows 98, and am having the same problem as so many others listed above. I plugged in the camera to one of my USB ports and NOTHING. My system properties shows that the universal USB controller is working properly and so is the USB hub. However I get a "no capture device found" error when I try to use the software. I spoke with a techie from talkway.com and although he tried very hard to help we were unable to get the C+++ to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. - I am using a PII/400mhz w/128mb ram and Win98.

Thank you,
Jason Caryl

Yup, another weeCam problem. I have Win98, 2 parallel ports with a printer & scanner on LPT2 and the weeCam on LPT1. The installation says that it can't find a port.

Just like all the rest in here. What's there to do?

I also fired off an e-mail to Alaris tech support but who knows if they will answer.I would appreciate any help that anyone has to offer, but I wonder if it is a software problem with the Alaris cd-rom.

As I stated above, the cam does not work properly. I have been attempting to contact Alaris, but no luck for the last few days. I now plan on calling Earthlink, since the offer came from them. I would be happy to hear anyone else's story about this BAD cam and what you are doing to take care of the situation. Let's all stay together on this issue and hopefully get cams that work. Feel free to e-mail me.

Hey guys, I think I can at least help temporarily with the wee cam problem (code 10, dropping device drivers). It at least keeps you from having to restart the computer and reload the drivers. Okay, just right click the My computer icon-properties-device manager tab-right click the alaris cam!-remove it-then refresh the screen. You may need to do this many times, but eventually it should reload properly. I haven't tried it that many times, so send me feed back. Not solved but at least you can use your cameras.

I have the same problem with the weeCam - USB, WIN98. I've tried numerous times to get load, remove, reload the drivers for the weeCam and each time I get a "THE CAPTURE DEVICE CAN NOT BE FOUND" message. I've e-mailed Alaris tech support several times and still haven't received resolution for this issue.

Everyone will have to send it back to Alaris. If you e-mail to alaris they will send you the insructions and a return number. It's a pain but hopefully they will send out a new one that works. I sent mine back this week and included all of these postings so they could see that I'm not alone.

I am an OP in an undernet chat channel, we really try to help members but we are having a problem with the Alaris Weecam, and the MJPEG codec. We do suggest your products to members but can you help us find out why the Mjpeg codec and the Wee cam are not working, we suggested possibly soft cam I think its a program conflict, can you assist? If not we will begin suggesting the Intel, or Creative Products. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hello all. I got my 2nd cam from alaris and through trial and error I finally got the videogram creator to load and work properly. I at first ran into the same problem with the capture device not found but was able to go to device manager of my computer clicked on video then web cam and load new driver and it worked. I am now sending both still pics and video and it really works. It did take me a couple of trys with the device manager part of your systems on your computer but it should work for you. Good luck and contact me if you should need any advice on this. sluggo777@aol.com

ALARIS WEECAM,

I JUST GOT ONE YESTERDAY AND HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEB I PLUG IT
INTO THE USB HUB ,WINDOWS INSTALLS IT AS AN UNKNOWN DEVICE AND IT WON'T
WORK. IF I PLUG IT RIGHT INTO THE COMPUTER WITHOUT THE HUB I CAN INSTALL
IT WITH THE SOFTWARE CD AND IT WORKS .( KIND OF) SOMETIMES IT MAKES MY
SCREEN FLASH AND THEN IT GIVES ME A BLUE FATAL ERROR SOMETHING OR
OTHER. THEN I HAVE TO CLOSE IT DOWN AND START ALL OVER. ALSO, SOMETIMES
THE GREEN LIGHT GOES OUT ON THE CAMERA AND IT STOPS WORKING.

IF YOU GET ANY SOLUTIONS PLEASE LET ME KNOW . IT SOUNDS LIKE
OUR PROBLEMS ARE INDENTICAL.
