Where Can I Download A Free Gateway Mx3228 Recovery Disk For

when i tried to create the applications and drivers discs, i get the following msg- ‘no recovery partitions or update cds files found. process aborted’- even though there is a ‘d: recovery disk’ on the hhd. i tried the ‘f11 key on start up’ and it wants me to insert disc 1 of the recovery disk. which i do not have.

    1. The Recovery disk(s) can only be created once. It appears either you or someone else already created them. You should be able to run a full recovery directly from the HDD, essentially a factory reset, which means you’ll probably lose all your files & programs. Reboot the laptop & press Alt+F10 as soon as you see the Gateway logo. However, I would seriously consider installing a different OS. XP is no longer safe. Mint Linux Xfce would be a good choice but you should have at least 1GB RAM.
