I have windows 8 and received an email spreadsheet attachment .xls which I cannot open. I have been able to open it in windows xp. When I right click and select save it goes straight to my pictures, and that doesn't open the attachment. Help!!!!!!
First, have you got Excel installed on your Windows 8 machine? If you have then when you tap the attachment you should get options to 'open', 'open with' or 'save', select 'open with' and then make sure there is a tick in the 'use this application....' box and that 'Keep using Microsoft Excel' is the chosen option. If you don't have Excel installed then you need to get it installed or use one of the free Office programs like OpenOffice.
