was having problems with the preinstalled MS product key MS doesn't have the preinstalled product key and HP doesn't have it .How can I use the MS office home and student I bought with my computer? HP pavilion g7 notebook pc. Windows 8
Product Key for pre-installed Office should be on a sticker underneath the laptop, as well as the key for Windows itself, so make sure you use the Office key and not the Windows key.
The trial version of MS Office is what usually comes pre-installed on HP computers. I think it's a 60-day trial. Did you pay extra for the full blown version? If not, save your money & install LibreOffice instead.
I heard of a program that can help repair Microsoft Office if there is an error with the key. I think it's called Office 2010 Toolkit. I never used it, but my friend said that it repaired his Office suit when it gave him a key error
riider is correct, the version of MS Office which came bundled with your laptop is not a fully licensed version. Its purpose is to determine the user to purchase a copy if he/she would like to keep using it. The only free and legal way that I can suggest you regarding the use of a MSO copy, is to either signup on MSDN with your uinversity ID if you are a student, or to use the Home Preview for Office 2013.
The only downside of this version is that it will also expire 60 days once the official version comes out. Other than that it's a full working version of the software and I'd say that you've got at least six months of usage before the license expires. There hasn't been an official announcement regarding the release date yet.
