I've tried everything I can. The problem is that Windows sees the computer overheating and shuts down 25 - 50 degrees early. No option to change the settings on the mobo.

Please repost this in the proper forum & stop spamming. Again, the "General Hardware" forum is more appropriate for your post.

Why are you posting this question again?

We already told you that there is nothing in Windows 7 that regulate the mobo temperature. It could be just that HP Pavilion tx1000 does not meet the minimum hardware system requirements for Windows 7. Roll back Win7 and be happy with whatever came preinstalled with this laptop. My two cents.

I'm posting because you delete my questions with no warning. I know there is a way because vista was set at a higher threshold. I stated in the first question, there is no rollback, vista doesn't install, neither does xp. Linux restarts almost the moment it gets logged in so I can't change the settings on it.

I didn't delete your post!

Once again there is nothing in Windows that regulate the mobo temperature. I suggest you take the laptop to an authorized HP service center and have them run hardware diagnostic tests.

I assumed you were, I apologize.

Nah, I'd rather buy a newer tx2500 rather than pay 450 for a repair.
