Hi Guys

My windows 7 arrived today but seem to be having a small problem getting it to work. I put the DVD in the DVD drive and restarted my computer and when prompted with the message "Press any button to boot from DVD" nothing happens and continues to boot XP up as normal

Ive gone into bios and made sure the SATA CD-ROM was priority #1 but still nothing.
I then decided to disable all other boot methods but still when the message appears no matter what button I press it just continues to boot XP.

I though it may be the keyboard but I'm able to get into bios and that screen comes before the CD boot message.

This is really starting to wind me up and I doubt its the CD's as Ive tried the 32 and 64 bit version and it shows up in my computer and lets me explore the CD itself

Any help always appreciated

Might be that the keyboard is not recognized (maybe not at all or not in time within W7) Change to a ps/2 keyboard.

Oh, great. Postal strike = get copy early.

you could always extract the dvd to a partition other than the one your going to win 7 on and then run setup from there.

If in fact you do have a DVD drive & not a CDROM drive, then there's gotta be a problem with the drive or your machine's BIOS settings.

Are you able to boot from any other bootable disc?

There are some issues with older systems that are not supported and would do this.

If your tag line is correct "Intel Q6600/ 4 Gig" then it should normally be expected to boot correctly.
