I just recently got a new computer, and it has Windows Vista Home Premium on it. I do own a retail copy of Windows Vista Ultimate Upgrade (I actually bought it the day Vista came out in January of 2007).
Anyways, this new computer has a free upgrade offer to Windows 7 when it is released, I presume it will be "Windows 7 Home Premium".
Now here is my question, will I be able to "upgrade" from Windows Vista Ultimate =>Windows 7 Home Premium? In theory I am both upgrading and downgrading at the same time.
Thanks,
Jesse

The3 official Eligible Upgrade Paths is HERE.
For Windows 7, upgrade media will be product version-specific and must correspond to the Qualifying Product Version. Don't overlook the fine print Restrictions.

You can "upgrade" from Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Home Premium if you perform a clean install & as long as you aren't implying an in-place upgrade. You'll need to perform a custom install when you get your Windows 7 Home Premium media & be prepared to reinstall your programs.
