windows 7 screen too bright

Specs: Windows 7, Core2Duo 2.3Ghz/2GB

Hello everyone!
I have a problem not resolved, more than one month. Then I bought a refurbished Dell Optiplex 755 PC with Windows 7 32 bits and a new monitor Dell E190S.

The image on the screen is terrible, tired eyes and gives you headaches. White is very bright, colors and text are unclear. This happens with all programs and windows open, including Internet browsers.

With DriverZone Driver Scanner I update all my drivers. Dell PC Diagnostics - All tests passed – Dell PC Diagnostics did not find any issues
I tried all possible settings: I use Clear Type Text, I increased DPI and used high contrast themes. I disabled (enabled) Aero, I calibrated the monitor with different programs. Please help me, if you know any solution.

Thanks in advance,
Mircea

Have you tried turning the brightness down on the monitor?

The native resolution for your monitor is 1280x1024. Anything else will be less than optimal. Drivers are available at the Dell website or if you become familiar with your system specs, you'll know where else you can download drivers (Intel, AMD/ATI, etc). I suggest you avoid "driver finder" programs.

You can also monitor brightness from display setting. But if it didn't worked then download the specific updated drivers from Dell site and install them.

This is also my problem. Bright screen, it is not too severe, though. Monitor brightness is all the way down. When Windows 7 starts, the brightness is O.K. After about 30 secs, it becomes brighter. Something causes it. Monitor has ambient light sensor. But it is off.I play with the monitor's gamma setting and temperature setting to no avail.

Sorry I could not have helped myself and I can not help you, either.
