Windows 7 Not connecting to DNS

I have Windows 7 Build 7100 and I'm having an issue connecting to the internet. While I can connect, most of the time it tells me i have no internet access. On top of this, when it does connect, my latency is generally sky high, comapred to my usual 100 ish. Any ideas?
