i am trying to install windows 7.in boot mode. when i start PC it says "press any key to boot from cd/dvd" then it loads windows files but it doesn't shows cursor on screen i.e the loading ring of windows 7 and cursor. and it displays first screen i.e select keyboard style and time currency format and language to install. at that time keyboard doesn't work and mouser doesn't work as it doesn't shows cursor. but cursor and keyboard work fine in windows 8 consumer preview setup

If your PC has a pair of PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports on the back panel, connect a PS/2 keyboard and mouse, then try running Windows 7 Setup again.
if the ps2 keyboard works, you should check in your BIOS for a setting to enable/disable USB legacy support. if its disabled that could be why the USB wasnt working, enable it.
i cannot go to further setup as both keyboard and mouse dosent work from the starting of setup. as the cursor program itself doesent load that means the pc doesent loads cursor at that time. no problem if mouse dosent work. i can use keyboard but it aslo dosent work.
Make sure that your mouse and keyboard are wired (not wireless) and are plugged into rear USB ports that are directly on the motherboard. USB ports that are on expansion cards, USB Hubs, many Front ports (especially those on multi-port front devices), and some USB3 ports (those on add-on chips that are on the motherboard but are not through the chipset directly) will not work until Windows drivers are installed (the same for wireless devices).
As mentioned, a PS2 connected mouse and keyboard should also work. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
hmmmm...do windows 7 PC's still have PS2 ports? I would say they are all usb ports anymore so response #4 should work for you Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions 7 Golds
