|My computer running windows 7 stopped booting. It hung at the windows logo screen. I tried to repair it by booting with the install disk but the tool was unable to repair it. I have tried to install a new sata disk and put a fresh install onto the new disk. The install fails. I have even tried to install Windows XP but again the install fails. Now windows will not even recognise the new disk. Bios recognises it but windows does not.|
I had thought this possibly a hardware error but my bios POST message is saying everything is ok. I changed graphics cards but still the problem exists. I also removed any other cards attached to the motherboard but still no change.
I have tried a bios reset but this has not worked.
At the minute, I have my original hard disk, I tried to install windows 7 again and the install seems to go ok. When it reboots the computer hangs after the bios loads. The screeen goes blank (black) with a flashing cursor in the top left and stays like that.
I'd really appreciate any suggestions anyone might have.
