okay, well i am using Windows 7 RC on my computer....and it hangs with stuttering audio whenever i try to transfer or attach files on the internet. Its random, i mean it can hang at any file if i was, suppose, attaching 5 files in my email. Similarly when i am trying to transfer files using yahoo, msn, skype ( it doesn't matter) the same thing happens. This happens 8 out of 10 times. The computer might also crash similarly even when i am not transferring files but that is rare. It is a windows 7 specific problem because i have windows XP installed on this machine on separate partition and the system never hangs on it. This rules out the possibility of damaged hardware.

My hardware :

Processor : Intel Pentium Dual Core
Ram : 1 GB
OS Type : 32 - bit
Graphics : Intel 82945G Express Chipset
Audio: Realtek HD Audio
Network Adapter : Realtek RTL8101E Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)

P.S. I have tried the vista drivers as well as windows 7 drivers for all devices... didnt help =/

one more point...i was using vista earlier on this machine on the same 1 gb ram and it never crashed like this. Plus i have also used windows 7 Beta build 7000 on this machine and it didnt use to hang like this.

Can it be an interrupt request conflict issue? Though windows device manager doesnt show any such conflicts. Please someone who really know about computers answer this pleasee

See performance logs to tell what is causing it.

Might have to get a better system or OS (xp).

As for rules out equipment you can't say that. One OS does not use the same hardware the same way. Your system was never factory tested for Windows 7.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
