Solved Windows 7 Adobe flash player has stopped working

September 15, 2012 at 11:19:06
Specs: Windows 7

Since adobe flash player v10 was installed I get a message saying adobe flash player has stopped working. I have updated to v11, same issue. Uninstalled/re-installed so many times I'm dizzy. Cleaned ALL adobe out of system , tried again, still same message. Is there an alternative to adobe fp?

No alternative that I'm aware of. I suggest you perform a complete re-install of Windows or a Factory Recovery (after backing up your data first, of course).

Many thanks Phil, will do that during the week if I get a chance. For the time being I have gone back to v9 which has resolved the issue. Just got to put up with the plugins out of date banner but that is so much easier to deal with than the constant stopping.

A reformat is the ALWAYS the LAST resort for any problem.
Reset your browser because it sounds like an addon is giving you problems. Another thing to try is is to run the browser in (browser) safe mode...with all addons disabled and see if that clears up the problem.

I'm using firefox, reset has been tried no joy. Add ons all checked same issue. v9 will do for now. I've noticed several other questions/complaints about v10 and v11 on the adobe forums. Maybe something else will come up that sorts it.
Thanks again.

I tried with IE and v11 works but I have another issue and not sure if it's connected. My Java is now not working :( I have downloaded 32 and 64 bit versions for both Java and Fp. The java stopped working at the same time as v10.3 fp but I wasn't thinking about it as I rarely use it. However it now doesn't work at all , whichever version of fp I use :(
BTW thanks to those who have taken the time to try to help so far.
