Perception is reality for Windows 7, as it just became the biggest grossing pre-order item of all-time at Amazon (UK); selling more pre-order copies in the first eight hours of its release than Vista sold the entire time it was available for pre-order on Amazon ... statistically, this makes Vista look inferior to XP which unfortunately is not the case.

M$ cheated by giving Windows 7 some artificial advantage with the pretty aggressive pricing & generous promotion strategies. Vista didn't get as much help ... there's gotta be a Vista village or nomadic settlement somewhere when Vista debuted -- No fair :-(

i have to say that although im not a great fan of vista, and that i do really like Win 7.
the fact is is never had any problems with vista, and neither does my 13yr old son, so although it was a bit different from XP, i never understood why it got bashed so heavily.
However i am a great fan of Win 7 and expect it to be the best selling OS ever...and i think there will be some major shocks when it comes time for the hacked versions to update and continue to be usuable.....i expect some heavy duty actions from MS on this particular OS as to hacked versions..so personally i bought 2 pre-order copies, which i expect to arrive shortly.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

I share a similar sentiment with you; I never had a major issue with Vista. I get flustered with it on occasion; no more than I do with XP & any other OS I had used in the past, but nothing that would make me cringe at the mere mention of VIsta ... as exagerrated by some folks on the internet. I guess that's neither here nor there at this point since Windows 7 has officially debuted.
