Win7 desktop icons & everything are too big

Specs: Windows 7
I recently installed WIndows 7 on my lapop and now all the icons and everything are huge even though I have all the appearence stuff set to all the smallest settings. please help.

Try this dirty but clever little trick On your keyboard hold down CTRL key and on your mouse, rotate the wheel to adjust the size of the desktop icons bigger or smaller.

What is your resolution setting? Did you apply the video driver for it? Check your video card driver setting again.

aubrey, Another thing to check is your Zoom setting. Open Internet Explorer, click on View on the Menu bar on top, choose Zoom and it should be set to 100% by default. The Zoom option is also available if you click on View>Toolbars and checkmark Status Bar. You will then see it above your clock on the lower right of your screen.

Just realize that a Low resolution (small number) is large icons and a High resolution (large number) is smaller icons. They are often confused and on the surface it would appear the opposite. Higher resolution means MORE dots per inch and an icon is a fixed number of dots(or pixels).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.
