How do I make a back up disc for my laptop? What kind of disc do I buy? Is there somewhere on my computer that will tell me this?
did your PC come with win 7 or is it an upgrade?
If it was pre-installed you would have had an option to make restoration discs when you set it up.You can make a free recovery disc at this address:

Your HP manual and/or HP's website should have instructions to make recovery disk (DVD) from your recovery partition, or their website. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
start/all programs/maintenence/create a recovery disk..
you can also create a image and do your backups...i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
