Specs: Windows 7

Certain web pages I visit will not allow me out. I keep double clicking real fast on the back button but it still wont let me out. Is there a way to get out of the page without having to close IE completely and re-opening it again? thanks for any help!

Some web authors, for reasons best known to themselves, use code that disables the back button. This only works while displaying the page. You can leave the page by selecting one of your favorites or entering an address in the address bar. You also may be able to use the drop down history next to the forward button.

A better browsing habit is to leave the original page or search open and open a new page as a tab by right clicking on the link and selecting 'open in a new tab'. This way instead of always clicking back and having to wait to reload the page, you just x out the tab and you are back where you started instantly. If you find a page that you want to read further, or follow a new set of links but later, you just leave the tab open and reselect the original tab and you can continue. This is especially useful when looking at the results of a search, comparing more than one product or price, doing research, etc. Right now I have 7 tabs open for people who have problems I may be able to help, but have not read most of them yet. I close them one at a time.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
This site is about helping people, lets keep it that way.
