I am trying to install windows 7 on a computer that had windows xp on it. I installed a new formated hard drive but when I put inthe install disk it start and all I get is the message- mode not supported H:35.5 KHZ and V: 87.0. I have tried all of the different monitor settings ans still no good. Any help would be appreciated.
Either the monitor or the graphics adapter inside the PC is not compatible with Windows 7 Setup. But more importantly, have you checked the PC manufacturer's website to see if they've got Windows 7 drivers for that model?
If they don't have any, you can't run run Windows 7 on that PC because most of the hardware won't work properly, if at all.
I will try what you suggested and let you know of the outcome. Thank you for your reply
Are you using HDMI, adapters, or display port connections? If so, switch to VGA or DVI with no adapters if possible.
