Solved Unable to sign in to Hotmail or GMail.

Specs: Windows 7

Hi all.
I am having problems logging into hotmail or gmail, and this happened just all of a sudden. I thought at first it was just a server problem or something, but after 3 days I am still unable to log in. I used Google Chrome and thought it was settings problem, so i tried it with Internet Explorer but it still won't let me log in (explained below).

Using Google Chrome
Hotmail:
When I try to log in and pressed enter, nothing happens... The page tries to load but it just refreshes and leaves the form blank to fill again. The web address however changes to as if its suppose to open up inbox.

Gmail:
When i try to log in gmail, it loads up a page that tells me that my cookie functionality are turned off. But in fact it is on.

I've followed instructions clearing up caches and stuff in the browser, but nothing seems to work.

Using IE
Hotmail:
When I try logging in, it tells me that I've got my password incorrect, even though its the same exact password I use that works on my phone. So when I tried to reset password, fill out the form thing, nothing happens.... Page just says Sorry, an error has occured.... over and over again.
I also tried logging in with my other hotmail account, the same thing happened...

I cannot log in to hotmail or gmail, i've used CCleaner to clean up the system a bit but that didn't help.
I didn't know how this happened, it just happened all of a sudden one morning i tried to check email.

I have also reseted settings in the browsers all to default, still didnt work.

Oh by the way, I don't currently have an Anti Virus software, McAfee expired ages ago, but didn't have problems with this ever since 2 days ago.

And my internet, is slower than usual, it takes around 5 times longer to load up google than usual. I don't use the internet a lot...

Obviously not wise to run inprotected. There are numerous free AV programs available, most better than McCrappy. Install CCleaner 1st, clean your system, run the registry scanner, then install MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials). When installing CCleaner, pay attention to the setup screens. Do NOT allow any bundled software to install, especially Google Chrome or any toolbars.

Hi thanks for reply.

So the reason for this happening could be the fact that I dont have an AV and that my laptop is infected with technological germs and bacteria that restricts me into accessing into mail accounts requiring cookies and stuff?
As I speak I've just cleaned with CCleaner and run the registry cleaner, and download MSE at the moment, but taking forever because my internet is slower than usual.
I will see what happens afterwards.

For the e-mail account access, first I would advise you to try to log in to your e-mail accounts to isolate the problem to the browsers or to see if the problem is from e-mail services providers.

Then we can discuss that of slow connectivity.

Thank you riider. I can now log in to my email and browsing the internet is now relatively faster, back to usual.
Even though it took forever to update MSE, it was worth the potential wait.
