TuneUp Utilities 2013 reports problem with SBRE device

January 3, 2013 at 03:02:37
Specs: Windows 7, IntelQuadcore 2.8 GHz

My TuneUp Utilities 2013 reports a problem with the SBRE device in both my PC as well as in my laptop Acer Aspire 5735Z. The only problem I experience in both computers is that programs stop responding quite often. Are they related ? What should I do ?
Windows reports that the "SBRE" device is not working properly.

It is interesting that this happens on both computers, so a common factor is likely.

See this:

What AV and anti-spyware products are installed on both computers?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

"What should I do ?"

How about uninstalling the snake oil known as TuneUp Utilities 2013?

Avast home edition was installed on both computers. Meanwhile this has been uninstalled with Revouninstaller and changed to Bitdefender Total Security 2013. I just ran TuneUp Utilities again and the SBRE problem did not appear any more in my PC, but is still there on my laptop.

In the Device manager SBRE does not appear, also when hidden devices are made visible.

Uninstalling TuneUp Utilities is to me somewhat of an ostrich policy: you do not see the problem any more, but it is still there.

TuneUp Utilities incorporates a registry cleaner and other features of dubious value. Registry cleaners in particular generally cause more problems than they solve. That is why it was recommended you uninstall it.
