I am trying to use the "search computer" function on Win7 and I can't find it. I know back in winXP I can just right click on my Network Place and see it then type in the IP I want.

Start > control panel > network and internet > view network computers and devices which is under Network and sharing center.

Or did I misunderstand what you are looking for?
