Hi all
I recently installed windows7 home premium, the problem is it didnt give me the option to boot from disc which would have given me the option to format the partition i wanted to install it on, so i installed from the D drive, the installation grabed vista and put it into a windows.old folder which is sitting on my C drive(the same drive that Win7 is) now on start up it gives me a dual boot option how can i get rid of vista and dual boot option?

Download EasyBCD & use it to remove the bogus entry from your bootmenu. Remember to delete the Windows.old folder as well.

thanks sabertooth that fixed the dual boot issue, but can you help with this i tried to delete windows.old and all but folder within(program files) were deleted.
it wont let me delete the folder because it says that a file or folder within windows.old is open in another program.
inside( windows.old/progam files/windows live/messenger.)
im thinking i need to take the winddows live/messenger files and put them in the W7 program files folder what do you think?

Try this:

-- Click Start & type Disk Cleanup in the search field.

-- Next click Disk Cleanup.

-- On the UAC prompt, click OK & click Continue.

-- In the Disk Cleanup:Drive Selection dialog box, select the hard disk drive that you want to clean up & click OK.

-- On Disk Cleanup tab click on the Clean up System Files icon

-- Let Windows analyze the system files.

-- From the Disk Cleanup tab & check-mark the "Files discarded by Windows Upgrade" check box, then click OK.

-- If prompted to confirm the removal of files, click Delete Files.

-- This should get rid of the Windows.old folder.
