If you re-install AOL make sure you know your password.
AOL - System Information - AOL Software - Quick Restore.
AOL System Information may be a little different depending on what version you have. What your after is Quick Restore.

For Quick Restore.
Start - All Programs - America Online - AOL System Information
Click OK for Warning - Click Quick Restore.
When you do this you will have to resign on to AOL.
Sign on to AOL - When asked enter your sign on name. Don't use the part @aol.com
Enter old Password - OK
Go to Keyword and type Store Password - Enter Password - check mark box - Save.
Don't check mark the email box unless you want your email password protected.
Go to and click Read Mail - A popup will come up - Click yes to save mail offline.
