That sounds like the computer is overheating. I suggest you get a can of compressed air from a computer or office supply store and use it to blow out the inside of the tower.

Disconnect all wiring from the tower and take it outside or to a garage because blowing out is messy. Be sure to blow out all fans and the power supply from both ends.

Pay attention to where the wires connect so you can reconnect them correctly.

Hi carol82057 ,
to find out if it is a recall, just type in the name and model of your PC into google and ask if it is a recall...that's the easiest way to find out.

The EL1333G-03w is an old Walmart special. It could be overheating due to lack of cleaning as suggested by OtheHill, or could be the power supply is bad (very common with eMachines). But you said you hooked up your laptop - to what? The monitor? And it's not working with the laptop either? If that's the case, it sounds more like the monitor is bad, not the tower. Please explain your problem more clearly & in more detail.

riider thanks for letting me know. This computer is only 2 years old. And I have tried blowing it out. And still does the same thing. One of my friends said I need a video card. What do you think I do not know much about computers. Please help and Thanks again.
