Lenovo G460 Laptop Can’t Access Wireless Network.

  • 1

I have a laptop and a desktop connected wirelessly through a router. My laptop can access the network, but my desktop can’t. In desktop device manager, the Microsoft tercedo tunneling adapter has a yellow marker on it. I reinstalled the driver for it, but no change. I selected it again and clicked on top action button, selected add legacy hardware, choose network adapters, clicked on microsoft, chose the tercedo tunneling adapter, and reinstalled it. Now I have 2 tunneling adapters with yellow marks. I also had message that said adapter reinstalled, but won’t start. Any suggestions appreciated.

  1. I finally found what was wrong. I went to manage wireless networks, right clicked on my wireless network name and clicked on security tab. Security type was set to No authentication (Open). I changed it to WPA2-Personal and problem fixed. What threw me before was that when No authentication was in security box, the encryption type below said WEP, so I confused that with Security type. Anyway, thanks for all the input.
