Your DVD player may not be capable of playing CDs.

I understand that. I am saying I have never done that myself so I am not able to help with issues that involve burning in Windows Media Player (WMP).

There are third party programs like Nero but you need to buy them. If WMP was working OK before then you should be able to fix the problem and continue to use it.

Did you just start burning disks? Have you burned disks that do play in your computer before? What is the source of the music?

Are you sure you aren't leaving out a step? Like finalizing the session?

You might try posting a new thread asking for advice on free burning programs. Then try a different program.

Have you burned a lot of disks with your burner?
It may just need to have the lens cleaned. You can by a lens cleaning kit for the drive.

Maybe you accidentally burned it on a DVD-RW instead of a CD-RW.

Computer store or Bestbuy. Places like that. I Googled for CD laser lens cleaning kit and got lots of hits. Below is one.

Radio shack, Family dollar, walmart, kmart. They are a fairly common item.
