My HP 630 is refusing to accept my password after my workmate tried to log in with an old password I had changed. Now I can't log in with my correct password.
From the off position. turn on computer, tap F8 key a few times, that should bring up a black screen with menu options choose "safe mode", it will bring up the Admin account and your user account, log into the admin account (hopefully you did not password protect it). Once you are logged in with the admin account go to the control panel, Users, select your user and remove the password. Restart the computer.
We have no way of knowing if it is YOUR laptop or if it is stolen. Unfortunately the only way you will get things rectified is to contact HP support and be ready to prove ownership and they should help you.... Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions 7 Golds
