This site has helped me allot and I would just like to contribute if I could. So here goes...
1.click CONTROL PANEL
2.click DEFAULT PROGRAMS
3.click ASSOCIATE A FILE TYPE OR PROTOCOL...(2nd option).
4.wait for programs to load.
5.click on icon you would like to change.
6.click on 'Change Program' in top rgt corner.
7.choose your desired icon!

Same thing happened to me and I could not find any other way to do it but one by one.I hope it works for you...

Shenali, Try the LNK and EXE File Association Fixes at the link below. I'd try the LNK fix first.

yes, I had the same problem but, now I have finished to solve it by using (File Association Fixes for Windows 7
http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/f... above link..... That is really greatly helpful..... thanks a lot for that.... but one thing I would like to suggest here is that firstly u should try in File Association is Reg, and then exe..... etc due to, as far as I am concern dealing that my computer on which I couldn't open Regedit as well. So, to solve this problem, to get Regedit or cmd or command is very important .... after having gotten it, all problems will be solved..... thanks u!!!!!

hi guys...this changed icon could also be other programs in ur computer not only media center..if the changed icon's software is not a default software(if u download it and install it),then it's easy.go to my computer, click on uninstall or change a program anb unintall the program that all the icons are changed.then you can install it again if u want. this will fix it.
bu, if the program oprsting systems default program, then you cant uninstall it,so all u have to do is change all this programs to a program that can be uninstalled and uninstall it..to do this click on start menu and write DEFAULT PROGRAMS.it will come ,write click on it and click on open with...then choose a program that can be uninstall and ok.
this will change all those icons to the new program.then uninstall that program by following the above step.
the other solution is using the window 7 fixer software...but i have fixed around 4 computer ,and it doesnt work on all of them...its up to u to choose, and try all of them..
hope this helps
