Whilst typing, the cursor "jumps" to another place in the text and because i dont look at the screen while typing, only see this later and then my sentence makes no sense.
If you are not accidentally touching the mouse pad then it sounds like a problem with the touchpad hardware or an intermittent connection with it. ___________________________________________

I get that problem often with different laptops also, even one that i replaced the keyboard on, I must be touching the touchpad somehow while typing, that's the only way I see it happening. It does get frustrating though ;-) Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
My wife is having the same problem, have you found a solution?
I haven't seen a solution, if it gets too bothersome you may want to try an external usb keyboard and that should work fine.
The problem is with different brands too so I'm wondering if it's not a motherboard flaw of some sort. If I type real slow on a problem laptop and make sure my fingers don't touch the laptop mousepad, the cursor will not jump....it's like an intermittent problem.Another thing you might try is to disable the mousepad and use a usb or wireless mouse:

That may work for you....good luckSome HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
Thanks for your replies. The only solution as I see is it to type with one's hands "in the air"...so as to keep away from the laptops mouse!!!

I have the same problem but have noticed it also occurs when my hands are nowhere near my laptop -- cursor will suddenly jump from one screen to another. I tried disabling the track pad but that didn't help!
I'm having the same problem and it's driving me crazy!!! So where do I find the friggin laptop driver so I can uninstall the damned creature?
I'll never ever purchase another Lenovo anything!! This laptop is the world's worst!!
s---!!!@ the damn mousepad is working yet I can't find it anywhere in the control panel!
I've looked everywhere...Maybe it's a Win 7 problem???
i also have this dreadful laptop. I have the same trackpad problem and the keyboard is also a dog. It will work with an external mouse and keyboard, but then what is the point! Cheap and nasty crap!
Fn F8 will disable the pad.
