Specs: Windows 7
After installing windows 7 on my laptop (previous running on xp), when i try to play DVDs on the internal drive, enlarge videos playing on sites or change the screensaver, it opens a green screen full of text, which i don't have the time to read, and then restarts. Any ideas?

How To Disable the Automatic Restart on System Failure in Windows 7
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windo...

Dump file please.
Minidump file is located in C:\Windows\Minidump
Kernel memory dump is located in C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP
If the folders are empty > Right click on My Computer and select Properties.
Then select Advanced system settings Tab on the left menu.
Under the Startup and Recovery section, click on Settings.
Make sure "Write an event to the system log" is checked and "Automatically Restart" is unchecked. In the drop down menu under "Write Debugging Information," select Small memory dump (128 KB) press OK and OK again.
Now next time the comp has a problem, get the EXACT error message off the screen & see if there is a .dmp file in the Minidump folder.
If it is still empty, repeat the process, but change > Small memory dump (128 KB) to > Kernel memory dump.
If a .dmp file is produced, upload it to a site of your choice & give us the link.

Was this a clean install of Windows 7?
Did you install Windows 7 drivers for your system?
Did you make sure that you selected Laptop settings during the install?
Before you started, did you make sure that the laptop was Windows 7 compatible and that there were drivers available?
Have you tried testing your memory with Memtest via a bootable CD?
Have you tested your hard drive with the hard drive mfg's utility?
Do you have enough memory for Windows 7 installed?
How about the exact make and model of the laptop? Post it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
