| 1st, be sure you're talking about Win7 and not beta. I'm using Win7 on a Pavilion with a Kodak 5300 AiO and it works fine. It has an unresolved compatibility problem causing it to dump its connectivity, only resolved by rebooting, but then it works fine again. Prints, scans, etc. Go to the Kodak site, help-support section, and drill down the the printers, all-in-one printers, 5300, download, and follow their procedures for making sure your software and firmware are both up-to-date for Vista (which works somewhat for Win7). Their online system will tell you this printer is not compatible with Win7, but it will work...just use the latest Vista driver. Also make sure it is compatible with your system (32bit or 64bit...mine is 64bit). You may run into installation glitches, but work past them, don't bail just because of a message. I've had various printers installations tell me their driver didn't install correctly, only to discover it worked fine. Try every angle. The drivers for the various models are different, but with some work, you can probably get it working. Doug Couch, Editor the Transformer, AVP-USA, Inc. |
