I have installed the Windows 7 on my computer along with windows 2000 and xp. 2000 is c: drive and Xp is d: drive and lord knows where the windows 7 went to but it works. I have my hard drive in three partitions and when installing 7 I selected the third partition which should be e: but e: never shows up with the files of 7 but looks like the 7 files are on c: When going to computer in 7 e: drive is not there...does not show up. Did I do something wrong? It seems to have loaded just fine. A lot to learn.

Before you get too far along, Be sure you understand that C and D and such are relative to the way the system booted. This is only MS's silly way of doing stuff. It has little to do with real partitions. See the sizes and real partitions to be sure.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

"in 7 e: drive is not there...does not show up" If you need to access that drive in Win7 go to disk managment and asssign a drive letter to it. Otherwise leave it, it's still there just not visable and files won't be accidently deleted on that partition. Whichever OS you boot to will be drive C: to that system, the other partitions will be reassigned.
Summary: Eventually it turned out that the the sizes of the partitions I wanted to install on, were not in line with the size mentioned in the partition table. A low level format with the Samsung HDD utili...
Summary: I have a brand new Windows 7 to install but I'd like to do it alongside my existing XP. I have an empty HDD that I'd like to put it on. My question is whether I will get a choice as to which OS I want...
Summary: You could try to get it to work. You'd have to mount the iso image to get the files off. A usb "how to" makes an assumption that you already have vista or W7 working already to issue the newer command...
