Solved How To Make External Hard Drive Read Only In Windows 7

Hi

I have external HD and I would to know how to protect it from earse the data.(I need that the HD will be read only).
I am using windows 7

      All the links I’ve seen so far are about how to fix a drive which has become read only, rather than making it read only.

      Making things read only, in the normal way, will only prevent you from changing the contents rather than erasing them.

      You should be able to use a variant of this:

      Probably the easiest way would be to first put all of the contents on there into a folder then set the permissions for that.
