HP startup screen before Windows 7 load

Specs: Windows 7

Hello...i just bought an HP pavilion laptop and every time i turn it on, this black screen pops up. It says, "splashtop" in the bottom and says MUSIC, PHOTOS, AND EMAIL at the top. That screen is on for about 15 seconds and then the windows start. There's a tiny box on the lower left side of the screen that i have to click if i don't want to wait those fifteen seconds. I don't want that screen to show up every time i turn it on, so is there a way to make that screen not come on?

This thing? And it's new? Used?

If new, first thing to do is contact hp tech support with your problem.

If used, it's probably still under warranty too.

If stolen, you're probably SOL about now.

What you are seeing is HP Instant On Software (IOS) Environment that loaded immediately after BIOS and stay put for a specific time period before Windows 7 start to load The link below is an overview of the IOS environment. You will find nstructions how to disable it.

Thanks - No problem :-) A client of mine loved IOS because it load almost instantaneously that allowed her to check email only without having to wait for Windows 7 to load. You can configure IOS to add more HP QuickWeb Applications to it. For more info, look here...
