Hey, maybe you guys/girls can help.
I am trying to install Windows 7 RC1, but I am having
issues...
Every time it tells me to uninstall this:
HP Protect Tools (Embedded Security)But I can't find this on my computer, I didn't install it.
I have searched all over the internet, but nothing helps.
The closet one I found was: <a
href="http://www.vistax64.com/vista-installation-
setup/16109-rc1-stop-message-must-uninstall-hp-
protecttools-security-
manager.html">http://www.vistax64.com/vista-
installation-setup/16109-rc1-stop-message-must-
uninstall-hp-protecttools-security-manager.html
Bit it still doesn't help me because there are certain
steps for me.
Like I still can't find the program on my computer!
Has anyone had this issue?
Or can anyone help?

Could be any of these. I'd look at bios.
* Smart Card security for HP ProtectTools
o Initialization and configuration of the Smart Card
o Manage Smart Card accounts and security settings
o Integration with supporting notebook BIOS requiring Smart Card to continue pre-boot process
* Embedded Security for HP ProtectTools
o TPM Embedded Security Chip configuration and management
* Credential Manager for HP ProtectTools
o Multifactor Windows Authentication
o Single sign-on
* BIOS configuration for HP ProtectTools
o BIOS configuration and security settings from within the HP ProtectTools Security Manager console"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

"Q. What is the process for uninstalling HP ProtectTools?
A. The process is the same as uninstalling any windows application:
From the Windows Control Panel, select “Add Remove Programs” & Remove the following ProtectTools components if they exist- Credential Manager for HP ProtectTools
- Java Card Security for HP ProtectTools
- Drive Encryption for HP ProtectTools
- Smartcard security for HP ProtectTools
- Embedded Security for HP ProtectTools
- BIOS Security for HP ProtectTools
- HP ProtectTools Security Manager"Are you sure there are no entries whatsoever for any of the above listed components on your machine?

Yay, I fixed it.
But, umm... it was actually a program called "Broadcom
Security Platform"
Yeah, but thanks, it was you guys that encouraged me to search
so hard.
