How to unlock folders and files in Windows 7

Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium, 2.4 GHz / 3061 MB

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. All of a sudden I have locked folders and files on my system. I am the administrator and sole user of my computer. What has happened to cause this? How do I unlock folders?

Right Click>Properties, then check all tabs.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

I right clicked and clicked on properties, then clicked advanced on all the below:

Authenticated Users
System
HomeUsers (ANGI-OFFICE\Homeusers)
Angi (ANGI-OFFICE\ANGI)
Administrators (ANGI-OFFICE\Administrators)
Users(ANGI-OFFICE\Users)

It will let me put a check in all boxes, EXCEPT Special Permissions

I want to be able to have Full Control and Permissions of everything on C:\

How do I do this?

Angi

P.S. It's 12:30 am here, going to bed now, will check back in the morning.

Dear subhash,

I tried that, but got lost... :-(

I then went to Microsoft and ran Fix it. I honestly don't understand what it did.

Because there are still locked files and folders.

I'm sure that I'm the one that has caused all these problems.

I was originally running Vista Pro, then upgraded to Win 7 Home Premium.

I had used Easy Transfer to back up my entire system to my external HD.

Once Win 7 had been completely installed, I went to my external HD and tried to use Easy Transfer. It did not work. I had to re-install all of my programs.

I didn't like the fact that Win 7 gave me a user name in all caps,
so I changed it from ANGI to Angi.

When I go to the Control Panel and click on Users:

It only shows my Angi (Administrator) Account

I had changed my name from ANGI to Angi.

I had also deleted the Guest Account.

below is what I see when I click on My Computer.

On C:\ it shows on the left side:

Angi (notice only the A is in caps) - under my name it shows:

Local Disk (C:)

Locked Folders are:

______________

When I click on the Users folder it shows:

All Users - Locked
ANGI - Locked

*Note that there is no Angi (with only the A capped) user listed
