my battery icon has an X on it and sends me a message saying consider replacing it, I have windows 7 how to do i fix it. the battery is charging but it drains really fast ever since that X appeared on the icon.
read the message, REPLACE the battery Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
IF the battery is fairly new, try cleaning the electrical contacts with a pencil eraser (not likely to help, but worth a try). If it is not new, your power management in Windows has correctly identified a bad battery. It will only get worse so purchase a new one soon or you may not be able to use it shortly. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
