|Toshiba (from mid-2007) no longer supply recovery disks with new laptops. They do provide a hidden recovery partition called the HDD Recovery Utility. This is accessed by pressing and holding the 0 (zero) key on the keyboard and then pressing the computer's power switch. This process is described in How to use the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility. |
you should never format the whole drive, or you will lose this partition.
the recovery disk is not an installation disk, just a recovery.
in the win7 backup and restore, you can set restore points, revert to restore points.
you can set file and folder backups and restore file and folders, \
make recovery cd's and most importantly create a image of your current system once you have all your programs installed and all the junk cleaned off.
take an hour or two to look through the backup and restore help file and you will be happy you did.
i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
