how to change cmos time and date settings for

Specs: windows 7 32 bit, GenuineIntel.4gb ram
everytime i start my computer,it says "cmos settings wrong,cmos time and date settings wrong".and also i'm not being able to change my time and date settings on the task bar.i had changed my cmos battery about 2-3 months back.

tap the del key on boot and change the time and date in the 1st bios screen.
then hit f10 enter

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

When you changed the CMOS battery did you then go into the BIOS (setup) and reset the date and time? There are other values in there that you may want to reset. Boot order and Legacy USB support come to mind.

Thnx for the reply.m new to computers.i changed the date and time settings on the cmos set up,but it gets back to its default values after i restart my pc.bt ocassionally my pc boots up normally without the cmos error.but again the time and date settings on my computer gets back to its default.plz help......

sounds like you replaced the battery with an old one, or you have a short somewhere..try blowing the whole board back and front with compressed air.or another battery.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
